Activities to provide support for schooling, food, health and training for schools and educational centres in contexts affected by structural poverty.
1. PROPOSING ORGANISATION
New Life for Children is an international humanitarian organisation based in Italy that has been operating on 3 continents for 10 years. The goal of our projects is to counter the cycle of child poverty by encouraging access to schooling for the population groups who are in need.
New Life for Children give priority to activities in contexts characterised by structural poverty in which girls and boys live in conditions of social, economic, physical and psychological distress.
New Life for Children supports any local entity that plays a role in education, believing that education is the key factor to guarantee that each child has a future that is free of poverty and violence.
2. OBJECTIVES OF THE CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The "Schools around the World 2019" call for proposals is part of the international "Schools in the World" programme which has been operating in support of infant schooling on 4 continents since 2004, promoted by New Life for Children and Fondazione Patrizio Paoletti,.
The overall objective of the call for proposals is to implement child protection and development initiatives in contexts of extreme poverty and social vulnerability through access to integrated schooling, health care and services for food security.
The target population are children from the ages of 3 to 14, while schools are the preferred space for the implementation of these initiatives, which have positive effects on both families and communities.
Thanks to this call for proposals, New Life for Children wishes to strengthen its network of medium and long-term international partners by carrying out activities aimed at achieving its mission in the following countries: Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania and Zambia.
The call for proposals provides for the allocation of funding in the form of the grant of a minimum of € 20,000 up to a maximum of € 40,000 for each individual initiative, up to a maximum duration of 12 calendar months.
As part of this call for proposals, funding will be provided for a single organisation based in one of the following countries: Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania or Zambia.
